We went and saw the McCoy Tyner Quartet perform yesterday at the Jazz on the Mall festival. Tyner is now 70 years old and walked to his piano a bit slowly, but once he sat down you could not tell and his quartet sounded tight. Especially great in contrast to the Latin jazz before them that I'm not a huge fan of.

my friend wanted me to go to that, but i got caught up in another family obligation...dammit. i love me some mccoy. *sighs* hopefully another time.
